Civil Engineering KNUST program gives students the practical skills and knowledge necessary to become structural engineers by covering the major civil engineering disciplines of structural engineering, geotechnical engineering, highway and transportation engineering, water resources engineering, and environmental engineering.

The curriculum is created to assure depth and emphasis in certain disciplines through a primary and secondary area of specialty, as well as a sufficient breadth of knowledge in the civil engineering disciplines through a set of core courses. Students work on an engineering project in their last year.

After a successful graduation, students are equipped to work for government or contractors at senior management level, consultants.

Civil Engineering Admission Requirements

Applicants must satisfy the university’s general requirements. To be qualified for admission prospective applicants must have the following requirements.

WASSCE/SSSCE APPLICANTS

Credit passes in three core subjects: English Language, Mathematics, Integrated Science or Social. Credit passes in three electives subjects: Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry.

A’ LEVEL APPLICANTS

Applicants with A’ Level qualification must have five (5) credits at O’ Level, including English and Mathematics and passes three A’ Level in Mathematics. Physics and Chemistry.

MATURE APPLICANTS

You must be 25 years of age to qualify at the time of summiting your applicant forms.

Applicants can be with WASSCE/SSSCE or O level qualification
