KNUST Department of Nursing Top-up is a programme created to give registered nurses the chance to advance their academic credentials from the diploma to the degree level.

Applications are open to qualified candidates for admission into KNUST to read Top-up Programmes at the KNUST Department of Nursing. Take note that the Diploma upgrade Programmes have now been revised to THREE (3)-year BSc. Programmes. Certificate holders are encouraged to apply for the BSc. Programmes at the same Centres that used to run the Diploma Programmes. All BSc. Programmes for Diploma holders have a revised duration of TWO (2)-years.
Top-up (Regular) programmes are programmes that allow students with relevant qualifications to advance their studies and earn a higher degree in specific fields. The top-up programmesin the KNUST Department of Nursing are:
Top-up (Sandwich) programmes are programmes that allow students to pursue academic studies during vacations or breaks while working or engaged in other activities. The sandwichprogrammes in the KNUST Department of Nursing are:
Applicant must be a holder of a Diploma in Nursing with a good pass and have at least TWO (2) years of working experience and duly registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Ghana or any other nursing and midwifery regulatory body. Such applicants will also be required to satisfy the University’s general requirements for admission to degree programmes for Diploma holders.

Applicants must be holders of a Diploma in Midwifery duly registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Ghana or any other nursing and midwifery regulatory body. Such applicants will also be required to satisfy the University’s general requirements for admission to degree programmes.
Applicants must be hold a Registered General Nursing Diploma, duly registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Ghana or any other recognized nursing and midwifery regulatory body. Such candidates will also be required to satisfy the University’s general requirements for admission to degree programmes for Diploma holders.
Applicants must be nurse assistants (clinical) with certificates, duly registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Ghana or any other recognized nursing and midwifery regulatory body. Such applicants will also be required to satisfy the University’s general requirements for admission to degree programmes for certificate holders.
Applicants must be Diploma holders in Public Health Nursing or Community Health Nursing and duly registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Ghana or any other recognized nursing and midwifery regulatory body. Such applicants must satisfy the University’s General Requirements for admission to degree programmes for diploma holders.
Applicants must be holders of a Nurse Assistant Preventive (NAP)/ certificate in Community Health Nursing, duly registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Ghana or any other recognised nursing and midwifery regulatory body. Such applicants will also be required to satisfy the University’s general requirements for admission to degree programmes for certificate holders.
