KNUST BSc GEOGRAPHY AND RURAL DEVELOPMENT

Geography plays a crucial role in the development of rural areas. Rural development involves improving the economic, social, and environmental conditions of rural communities. KNUST BSc Geography and Rural Development is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the relationship between human beings and their physical and social environment. This program provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to understand rural communities and the challenges they face, including economic development, resource management, and social inequality.

The BSc Degree program present at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology is a four-year undergraduate course leading to BSc Degree In Geography and Development (Honours)

This degree prepares graduate for a variety of careers in fields such as agriculture, environmental, and rural development policy.

KNUST BSc Geography and Rural Development Admission Requirements

Applicant must satisfy university’s general requirements. To be qualified for admission the prospective applicants must have the following requirements.

WASSCE/SSSCE APPLICANTS

Credit passes in three (3) elective subjects: (A1-B3) and two of the following: French, History, Elective Mathematics, Economics, Government, Akan, and General Arts Elective.

A/O LEVEL APPLICANTS

Five credits at the O’ Level, including English Language and Mathematics, plus three (3) A’ Level passes including Geography and any other two form the following: Akan, French, Religious Studies, Elective Mathematics, English, History, Economics. Applicants must have pass in General Paper.

MATURE APPLICANTS

Applicants must be 25 years at the time of summitting application.

EITHER five credits at O’ Level including English and Mathematics.

OR WASSCE/SSSCE credit passes in three (3) core subjects: English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science. Credit passes in three (3) elective subjects: Geography.

Applicants must pass an interview and a written examination.
