BA French and Francophone Studies KNUST provide students with deep understanding of the language, as well as culture and history of French speaking countries.

Duration of French and Francophone Studies course

The program present at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology is a four-year degree undergraduate course leading to BA. French and Francophone Studies (Honours).

What are the grades needed for French and Francophone Studies KNUST course

The basic requirements are that applicants should have credit passes (A1-C6) in six (6) core subjects English, Mathematics, Integrated Science. Elective subjects French, Literature in English, Government.

FRENCH AND FRANCPHONE STUDIES AT KNUST entry requirements

Applicants must satisfy the university’s general requirements. To be qualified for admission prospective applicants must have the following requirements.

WASSCE/SSSCE APPLICANTS

Credit passes in core subjects: English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science. Elective subjects: Good pass in French (at Grade A1-B3) and any two of the following Literature in English, Business Management, Ghanaian Language, Government, Geography, History and any other General Arts Elective.

A’ LEVEL APPLICANTS

Five (5) credits at O’ Level, including English and Mathematics, additional Three (3) A’ Level passes, including French or Akan, and any Two (2) of the following: History, Economics, Business Management, Literature in English, Geography, Government, any other Ghanaian Language and Religious Studies. Applicants must also have a pass in General Paper.

MATURE APPLICANTS

Applicants must be 25 years at the time of summitting the application. EITHER Five (5) credits at the O’ Level, including English and Mathematics, French or Akan.

OR WASSCE/SSSCE credit passes in Three (3) core subjects: English Language and Mathematics, and Integrated Science. Credit passes in Three (3) important elective subjects including French or Akan and any two of the following: Literature in English, Business Management, Geography, Ghanaian Language, Government, Religious Studies, Economics, Geography and any other General Arts Elective.

Applicants must pass a written examination and an interview.

FRENCH AND FRANCOPHONE STUDIES AT KNUST cut off points.

French and Francophone Studies cut off points is very important to guide applicant in the process of selecting their course at KNUST. Therefore, student who want to apply must meet with the cut off points of the school before applying.

French and Francophone Studies at KNUST cut off points is 17. Applicant must have credit in the following courses:

Three core subjects English, Mathematics, Integrated Science or Social. Three electives’ subjects: French, Literature in English, Government.
