BSc Architecture KNUST program

Architecture is the art of and science of planning, designing and constructing buildings and physical structures.

BSc Architecture KNUST program is to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of architecture, urban design, and planning.

The sim of the program is to equip students with deep understanding of architecture design, as well as technical skills and knowledge required to build and maintain. At the end of the program students, should be able to think critically, communicate effectively, and develop innovative design solutions that meet the needs of the society.

Graduates of the program are well equipped to pursue careers in architecture, construction, urban.

  • To train students of the highest caliber in the discipline of Architecture through Teaching, Research, Professional Practice.

Duration of BSc Architecture KNUST course

The BSc Architecture KNUST is a four-year program which leads to the award of the degree in Architecture.

What are the grades needed for BSc Architecture KNUST Course

The basic requirements are that applicants should have credit passes (A1 – C6) in six (6) subjects’ core subject English, Mathematics, Intergrated Science or Social Studies. 3 passes in elective subjects from Mathematics and any two from the following Chemistry, Economics, Picture Making, Building, Construction, Graphic design.

BSc Architecture KNUST cut off points is very important to guide applicant in the process of selecting their course at KNUST. therefore, student who want to apply must meet with the cut off points of the school before applying.

BSc Architecture KNUST cut points is 09. Applicant must have credit in the following courses:

Three core subject English, Mathematics, Intergrated Science or Social. Three elective subject Biology, Mathematics, Construction, Chemistry, Physics. these courses must sum up to 09 or better for applicant to get admission.

BSc Architecture KNUST Admission Requirements

Applicants must satisfy university’s requirements. To be qualified for admission the prospective must have the following requirements.

WASSCE/SSSCE APPLICANTS

  • Credit passes in three core subjects English Language, Mathematics, Integrated Science or Social.
  • Credit passes in three elective subjects including Mathematics and any two from the following groups
  • (General Arts) Economics, Geography
  • (Visual Arts) Graphic Design, Picture Making, General knowledge in Arts
  • (General Science) Chemistry, Physics
  • (Technical) Building Construction, Metal work, Woodwork.

A’ LEVEL APPLICANTS

Applicants with A’ Level qualification must have five (5) credits at O’ Level, including English and Mathematics and passes three (3) in A’ Level subjects from the following: Chemistry and Physics, Biology or Building, Mathematics, Carpentry, Statistics, Geography.

MATURE APPLICANTS

You must be 25 years of age to qualify at the time of summiting your applicant forms.

Applicants can be with WASSCE/SSSCE or O level qualification.

Faculty of Built Environment

There are a total of 4 departments under the KNUST faculty of Built Environment under the College of Art and Built Environment.

The departments are.

  • Department of Architecture
  • Department of Construction Technology Management
  • Department of Land Economy
  • Department of Planning

The Department of Architecture KNUST is dedicated to improving both Ghanaians’ and all peoples’ quality of life as well as the satisfaction of all its diverse stakeholders. The Department has given its mission-fulfillment strategy a lot of attention over the years and produce architects and researchers for the local and international built environment.

Again the department offer both undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs.

  • Please will you get admitted architecture if you learn elective mathematics but two of the electives mentioned?

  • My son wants to read Architecture at Knust but this is what he got in the exams
    Core maths, eng, social, elective maths, General knowledge in Art, ceramic . He had A in all
    Then science B3 and picture making B 2.
    Pls will he pursue Architecture at Knust?

  • I study architecture drafting in St Paul technical institute but I never study e-math and physics as a subject . this is what I got in exams
    Pass in English
    Pass in integrated science
    Pass in social studies
    Fail in core maths
    Pass in Fundamentals of designing and drafting
    Credit in construction technology
    Pass in practicals / project
    Credit in technical drawing
    Please will I be admitted to read architecture.
