KNUST Medical Sciences and Public Health Courses Entry Requirements

WASSCE/SSSCE APPLICANTS

If you are applying for admission to undergraduate, you must have credits in three (3) core subjects. These include English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science. The core subjects are compulsory.

Again, you must also have credits in three WASSCE/SSSCE elective subjects or it equivalent relevant to the chosen programme with aggregate 24 or better.

(WASSCE: A1-C6/SSSCE A-D)

General Business Certificate Examination (GBCE) Applicants

As an applicant, you must have passed in Three compulsory subjects. These subjects include English Language and passes in three elective subjects including Business Mathematics.

O’ LEVELS/MATURE And GCE/IGCSE (CAMBRIDGE)

If you are applicant under this category, your GCE/IGCE O’ Level must have five credits and include Mathematics and English Language. Also, you must have passed three or more subjects at the Advanced Level as a mature applicant.

Advanced Business Certificate Examination (ABCE)

As an applicant, you must have passes in three compulsory subjects plus three optional subjects relevant to the programme of study.

International Baccalaureate Holders

  • International Baccalaureate holders should have a minimum of grade 4 at the higher level (HL) in three subjects relevant to the programme of choice and minimum of grade 5 in chemistry for health and Allied Science
  • For Engineering, at least, grade 5 at the higher level (HL) in Mathematics.
  • In addition, one must have minimum of grade 4 in English Language and Mathematics at the Standard Level (SL) and at least grade C in a Science subjects at the IGSC.T Applicants from French speaking countries must provide a minimum of one-year English Proficiency Certificate

Entry requirements for BSc. Midwifery

Applicants must have excellent midwifery diploma and at least two years of work experience following the National Service Rotation are required.

You must be in good standing, have a current PIN, and be registered with a nursing and midwifery council.

You must have obtained an aggregate of 24 or higher in the WASSCE/SSSCE or have finished the KNUST access program successfully.

Entry requirements for General Nursing Programme

Applicants must have General Nursing Diploma with a passing grade, two years of relevant experience, and membership in the National and Midwifery Council with a current PIN and good standing. You must have obtained an aggregate of 24 or higher in the WASSCE/SSSCE or have finished the KNUST access program successfully.
